NOW board member Cathy Baylor will be presenting an informative and thought-provoking virtual program entitled: "Intergenerational Trauma and Indian Boarding Schools:  One Family's Story." In mid-July 2021, it was reported that the remains of over 1,000 indigenous children had been found in the graveyards of boarding schools in Canada. Cathy, whose family attended boarding schools in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, says that when she heard this, "I was triggered.  I found myself thinking about my family and crying. I knew I had to tell the story about Indian Boarding Schools and my family." 

Please join us to hear this story of intentions gone horribly wrong, the long-term effects of intergenerational trauma and the personal suffering that is occurring to this day.
