To walk away with your renewed commitment to gender and racial equity, through the power of feminine rage and action.

Documentary Screening & Panel Discussion: Catching Sight of Thelma & Louise
Seattle NOW is honored to present a special screening of Catching Sight of Thelma & Louise, a powerful documentary that revisits the groundbreaking 1991 film to explore its influence on female empowerment, resistance, and social justice.
In partnership with filmmaker Jennifer Townsend, this event is an effort to drive awareness and spark critical conversations during Sexual Assault Awareness Month. By revisiting the themes of resilience and solidarity depicted in Thelma and Louise, we aim to shed light on the realities of sexual assault, its impact on survivors, and the ongoing fight for change.
After the screening, filmmaker Jennifer Townsend will be joined by a panel of speakers for a compelling discussion that dives deeper into these critical topics and their relevance today.

Educational Webinar on Upcoming Initiatives
Join Seattle NOW for an important educational webinar on upcoming initiatives 2109, 2117, 2124, and 2066. These proposals threaten to undo a decade of progress on critical issues like education, clean energy, environmental protection, and care for seniors and people with disabilities. If passed, these initiatives will shift the financial burden onto middle- and low-income families while allowing big corporations and the wealthy to avoid paying their fair share.
Our guest speaker, Calvin Jones, Outreach Director of Defend Washington, will break down each initiative, explaining their true impacts and the motives behind them.
Funded by millionaire hedge fund manager Brian Heywood, who recently moved to Washington from California, these initiatives are intentionally misleading. They aim to cut programs that reduce pollution, invest in affordable transportation, lower energy costs for families, pay care providers, and fund essential education programs for our children. Don’t let out-of-state interests dictate Washington’s future. Get informed, protect our communities, and vote NO on these deceptive measures.
Together, we can defend Washington’s future!

July Community Meeting - American Hospitals: Healing a Broken System
Today hospital care is too often about money and power than serving the health needs of patients and the community. “American Hospitals” examines the pernicious incentives driving health care’s astronomical pricing, its monopolistic practices and the pervasive inequities in access and treatment. The film identifies innovative solutions that deserve national attention to restore hospitals to their historic focus on community health at affordable cost.

This presentation will cover a broad range of topics and work to improve your awareness, suggest preventative measures you can take and what to do if you are subject to an attack.
